Summary0002112: Advanced miner creates zero-stacks and doesn't work with overclock upgrades
DescriptionAdvanced miner creates zero-stacks and doesn't work with overclock upgrades, when it injects mined items into a Refined Storage interface it will inject them with a size of 0.
Additionally it doesn't interact with overclock upgrades at all and once it's started you cannot interact with the GUI buttons, so the only way to reset it is to break-and-place.

While the zero-stack bug was fixed, overclock upgrades still don't work in the adv miner, is this still being worked on?

They do work in the miner, the rate at which is scans blocks is overclocked. Which means if you exclude stone for example it will mine faster, but if you don't filter anything it won't seem any different.

Well that's useless to me because I don't want them to ignore anything...

Shouldn't the OC upgrades speed up the block destruction instead of just the scanning? Considering the scanners are already instantaneous for their radius it doesn't make much sense for them to be the cause of the bottleneck...

The way the scanners work in the advanced miner is different to how they work in the hand.

When you right click one holding it, the list of ores in a box around you is given. In the miner, it sets it's maximum range based on the scanner (which is a bigger value than when you hold it too). Each tick the miner will scan the next block to see if it can be mined, and do so if possible. Overclocking means if the scan fails it will try more blocks afterwards in the same tick.

I'm talking about increasing the "tick" rate of the adv miner to be faster than 1 second, it takes about 75 hours to fully mine a 65*65 hole without using more miners or filtering, and I'd rather not use filtering as that will result in an excess of triangles baked in the chunks (permanent FPS lag).

Unless you alternatively want to add a way to replace removed blocks with stone or something?
