Summary0001055: id conflict preventing some worlds from being opened
DescriptionAny world that it used IC2 in is no longer working after i down loaded IC2.0.397-experimental.
I keep getting this error message:

"IC2 detected an ID conflict between your IC2.cfg and the map you are trying to
 load.

 Map:TOTO

 Config section: block
 Config entry: blockCable
 Config value: 4005
 Map value: 228

Adjust your config to match the IDs used by the map or convert your map to use
the IDs specified in the config.

 See also: config/IC2.cfgTOTO/ic2_map.cfg"

What do I do?

What version of IC2 were you using before? What version of Minecraft are you running? There were some save-breaking updates early in the experimental chain. You cannot load non-experimental worlds in IC2 experimental, as far as I know.

It's not possible to load a pre-Experimental world in Experimental, but it /is/ possible to port it with minimal backlash. I had to port an MC 1.5 IC2 server world (with BC and RC) to work under MC 1.6 IC2-EX when the server was updated. It took me around 64 hours, spread across four days, to develop a world conversion process, but when all was said and done nearly everything made it across unscathed.

Can you share this process you speak of? Is it a shell script or something? I'm sure others would be interested in your method or using your code, if it's portable and you're willing to share.

I have uploaded "World Conversion.zip", which contains the two utilities I used, the BlockID and ItemID conversion "script" required by the mIDas utility, and the instructions developed for the overall world conversion process.

I make no guarantees that this process will work. See the Pre-Conversion Warnings section for more information, especially regarding the issue concerning MFSUs turning into MFEs and MFEs turning into CESUs (while still retaining all of their stored EU).
