| Description | a single redstone item dropped into a Induction Furnace will immediately fill its 10k EU storage. as of now, redstone is supposed to provide 500 EU per unit; this makes it worth 20x if used directly inside the machine. | ||||

One redstone dust is intended to always be enough for exactly one operation of a machine. The induction furnace is an unfortunate special case because the cost of one operation can vary by heat level, and the heat level can be increased cheaply -- the correct fix for it may be simply to not allow redstone to be used to power it. You will be pleased to learn that storage upgrades do not affect the amount of EU handed out by a redstone dust, nor do overclocker upgrades -- the amount given is enough for one operation at non-overclocked speeds. It is very important to note that redstone dust is not a fixed amount of EU -- operation costs for the electric furnace and macerator are very different, but one redstone dust will allow one, and only one, operation in either. |
