The sorting machine just has a really big buffer (100k EU) for some reason, I'll drop it to something a little more sensible for earlier game |

Fixed in IC2 2.8.51, it now only has a buffer of 15k EU. Based on the maximum power draw a tick of 20 * 64 * 11 (= ~14k) it still shouldn't ever run out of power within a tick if full. |
