Summary0000235: Enet error spamming console
DescriptionI get stuff like "nergyNet.emitEnergyFrom: ic2.core.block.wiring.TileEntityTransformerLV@5bb32192 is not added to the enet"
"ic2.core.block.wiring.TileEntityElectricMFSU@1225a50e is not added to the enet"

its constently spams my server console.

Additional InformationInstead of it giving you a random set of numbers and letters could it give the block location of where the error is occurring? that way I can brake the block and reconnect it and try to fix the error on server side?

I'm getting the same error whenever I move too far away from my machines and the chunks are removed from memory. Once I come close enough for the chunks to be reloaded my console is being spammed by the same kinda errors.

Interestingly, this issue also affects RedPower microblocks (they turn invisible - sometimes!) and vanilla signs (some of them are blank when I return).

Using chunk loaders works fine as a workaround, probably not that easy on SMP tho.

Tested with IC2 1.111 and Forge 6.4.2.443 and 6.4.2.448 on MC 1.4.5

"Using chunk loaders works fine as a workaround, probably not that easy on SMP tho."

I have some machines chunkloaded. but until there is a way to figure out where the error is coming from, I wont know where this error is coming from.

Purely generic bug, reported who knows how many times >.<
All it means is that the machine is *trying* to emit energy, but it's in an unloaded chunk, so it can't, therefore it spams the console with unnecessary spam. Ignore it, and use a chunkloader like Smashy said.

your kidding.... I'm not going to chunk load the entire server to get the console to stop spamming....

@Zexmaxwell001. Well...you could use Chickenbone's spot loaders...OR YOU COULD JUST IGNORE THE WARNINGS.
If you're really desperate, use the one of the latest dev version and see if that fixes it: http://ic2api.player.to:8080/job/IC2_lf/184/artifact/packages/industrialcraft-2_1.112.184-lf.jar

@Wliu Speaking as a server owner, when you're trying to find other problems that occur on the server, it's a dreadful pain to scroll through thousands of pages of "18.01 09:46:22 [Server] WARNING EnergyNet.emitEnergyFrom: ic2.core.block.generator.tileentity.TileEntityGeoGenerator@a9e1a2f is not added to the enet" spammed no less that 27 times every second with random generic locations to find one line with a different error.

Feed the Beast is already memory intensive enough, placing hundreds of chunkloaders to stop the insanity that is caused in the console by this one warning is STUPENDOUSLY ASININE.

My suggestion (since I'm desperate enough if the OP isn't) would be to remove this error, if possible, from the console if it's a normal occurrence.

A workaround to reclaim the console is to use save-off and then have a script run periodically to do a save-on/save-all.

Little crazy, but it seems like there is no inclination whatsoever to remove this debug line.

@Naolas, Isn't that what MC My Admin does? because I still get it.

It's sad that there is no inclination to remove this debug line. I think that, even worse, the attitude of one of the representatives of IC2 (I won't mention Wliu's sarcastic comments to every bug report I've looked at) shows that they think that we are stupid. Of course, on their super computers, they can chunkload everything, but us po folk can't.

I shall be withholding my future donations to this mod until this bug is fixed. As Mr. Sardonic has said in my bug report, it's been reported >9001 times, so the lack of inclination OR (capitalized to draw @Narc's attention)just plain laziness to fix this widespread bug is disapppointing from people that made the server user's quality of IC2 appear so well done.

I am sadly not familiar with WC My Admin. I use a screen on a linux machine.

You may not be able to script stuff, but you could use save-off when you want to do something on the console and then save-on when you are done.

Just be careful, cause as long as saving is suspended, the world will not be saved, even when you stop the server. All chunks will stay loaded until you turn it back on.

I don't know what is going on internally, but exceptions/warnings seem to be filtered from console output (wireless redstone exceptions for example).

@Tryniti -- I think there's been a misunderstanding somewhere. There has not been an official IC2 dev response to this issue at all. Wliu is annoying, but not incorrect: all you can do at the moment is either chunkload the machines or ignore the warnings until someone who is actually an IC2 dev has a few minutes to look at this.

I find it very sad that you seem to assume the IC2 dev team is uninterested in making the mod better, or that they're all collectively lazy. My own assumption on the matter is that they're all busy doing things like furthering their education and/or working at jobs that actually pay regular money -- as the saying goes, real life comes first -- and that eventually they'll have some time to look into reported issues and fix them.

And if I were on the IC2 team (which I am not), I would personally be inclined to do something else, anything else, when I read something like the bovine excrement you so thoughtfully left for us in 0000235:0000683. Your sense of entitledness and senseless rage at something that is, at worst, a mild annoyance, make me ashamed to be part of the same community as you.

Here's one issue to consider with the constant spamming: it hugely increases the size of the Forge log files. Mine were routinely hitting over 1GB of text in less than 24 hours (my server restarts every day automatically). Hard drive space is cheap, but that means that it's significantly more difficult to get the files to open (especially bad on Windows computers), and even if it opens you have thousands of lines of this and then maybe a dozen useful lines for whatever your'e actually after, which subsequently means that this bug is making it extremely difficult to diagnose other issues. Tryniti hit the nail on the head with this one; it truly is asinine to expect us to sift through thousands upon thousands of instances of this error. If it's a known and expected error, then put an exception for it in the error handler!

Lock this. no one is willing to stay on topic and write something constructive.

this is a bug report system. NOT the forums.

I wonder if Wliu is actually an IC2 admin, actually. He's the one that's labeling all these tickets as "Can be Closed" and "Duplicate".

@Narc As for IC2 devs being "inclined to do something else, anything else, when (they) read something like the bovine excrement (I) so thoughtfully left for (them)", I have but one response: They apparently were successfully already doing that before I left my comment. ;)

Nah, anyone can attach tags. I could tag every bug in the system "urgent" if I were so inclined -- it doesn't actually do anything except add a search keyword.

And yes, the IC2 team does seem to be all busy doing other stuff -- and they're not going to be inclined to work on IC2 while we, their players, are berating them for not focusing on us. Let's be more constructive, and have less of the public "I won't be giving you any money unless you look at me" ultimatums.

@Tryniti, apologies for any misunderstanding, I was only trying to quote as exactly what you said without actually quoting -- my phrasing was: "uninterested [...] or [...] lazy", which was intended to be the same as your "lack of inclination or just plain laziness". I was not focusing on either of the two terms, I just included both.

@Narc I perfectly understand your point, but since there are >9001 of these error messages posted and not one dev response, instead of using foul mouth "I hatez joo!" language, it's easier to speak with your pocketbook.

Thanks for telling me about the tags=D

I understand and agree -- I suppose what I really wanted to say was: the concept of voting with your pocketbook doesn't include making disparaging remarks about the people you're trying to get something from. The decision is good, but how you present it makes you sound whiny, and I'm sure that's not what you intended.

I apologize if I came off exceedingly harsh in my earlier statement, but I did and still do want to call that to your attention -- words matter. You probably don't really want to be as aggressive as you come through about "their super computers" vs. "us po folk", or have any mention of "laziness" at all (no matter how much you may be thinking it). We're all people, and I doubt you'd be happy to be on the remote end of your own post, particularly while not knowing the circumstances of the IC2 dev team members (no, I don't know them, either -- this is why I don't say anything in either direction).

(I apologize for going as off-topic as I did; I just thought this needed saying)

@Tryniti
First of all, I want to sincerely apologize for offending you.

My "sarcastic" and "trollish" comments were only because many, many people have reported them, if you look at the 1.109-1.112 beta threads (I think it appears the most in 1.112).
We have also asked for it to be fixed (can't find the thread), and Player did fix the other eNet spam in .184.
Like narc said, the IC2 devs have lives.
And...there is a search function. I do not think you are stupid; I only think that you should search for your issue first before posting a duplicate.

EDIT: Is anybody else getting emails now?
