Summary0002490: Break wires
DescriptionSometimes the wires break, you have to build them again. If restart the server sometimes the wires restore.

I have the same problem using 2.8.109-ex112. Server tick climbs to very high and keeps showing some message but I forgot to copy it before I close server program. I copy the world to single player's save and load. It will crash after a few seconds.

If the whole world is crashing the crash report would be very helpful, as would the logs if its having connection issues.

First time it didn't creat crash report. After that I try to restart server 3 time and watchdog shotdown the server. These is the report.
Single play just frezz. Had to use Task Manager to close it. No crash report. I will try to get the report again.

I'm having the same issue on my server. It happens occasionally (think it's after server reboot), and it's really annoying. No one wants to make anything heavy with IC2 on my server because of this. Anything I can do to help speed this up?

Happened again today, and I managed to collect some information. It seems to happen when the chunks load. I'm on a server with a custom modpack. When I logged on, it was like the screenshot.
It's not a visual bug, cause EU stops flowing.
I tried relogging (19:01). That did nothing.
Went far away from the area (around 19:03?), and back. Then it was fine.

Hello, I have been suffering from the same issue for a while as well, i host a server for a few of my friends

attached to here is my latestlog , my server never crashes, only spams so much that i cannot exit with "stop" but instead must be exited by force (so no crashlog is made)

I am on industrialcraft-2-2.8.109-ex112 on forge forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2824-universal

Hey, this error is also happening on Sponge Servers running the Enigmatica 2:Expert Modpack:
IC2: 2.8.164-ex112
Forge: 14.23.5.2847
Forge Modloader: 8.0.99.99
If found out it happens, when you leave the server and join it again. If you unload the world and load it again it sometimes solves the problem.

I got same error on my server. It seems to be happening per-chunk in my case (see screenshot 1). Got two chunks constantly messed up (hope you see chunk borders on pic), was going to blame Forestry's Alveary as it's the blocks I placed day before error start occuring but it's also messing up chuck without any forestry blocks in it (still its right on the edge with Alviary).

When it's happening I see multiple errors like that on server:

Only thing I noticed is that tileentity positions seem to be a little bit messed. I know that it's not exactly the same as player world position but every message contains a bit shifted coordinate by either x or z (not sure, Z definitely shifted). For example on screenshot 2 you can see that I'm standing right on the Kinetic Generator but error seems to be thrown by TE on Z:-126, where CESU is placed, not Kinetic Generator.

I have the latest version on 1.12.2 (industrialcraft-2-2.8.170-ex112.jar) and using Sponge I think. The only mod I installed right before it started to happen was FTB Backups I guess.

Going to use another server solution instead of Sponge as I see people in thread above all using Sponge. If helps, I'll write down an reminder to give feedback closer to the end of the week. Maybe we need to report that to Sponge team instead.

Unfortunately I think I moved from Sponge to native Forge server at the time first post was written, so that's unlikely Sponge issue (however I admit that I used Sponge before issue happened first time). I wouldn't like to spam board with new issues but see several same issues opened, like 0002620, with no responses, this at least have feedback tag.

Overall my thoughts that there's something wrong with Face state handling/syncing with enet on long partial chank unload (I mean situation where part of energy net is still updated by the game but some part is not). Because energy storage seem to have correct states but no actual input/output sides, as well as kinetic generators and other stuff, and the issue happens rarely. Even if I remove cables and replace them I see that they're wont connect to the batteries unless I rotate them.

Figured out that I have the same mods with modpack mentioned in 0002620
BiblioCraft, that seem to be extremely badly implemented, ngl.

Except the first one other mods seem to be well built and high quality. I also probably need to mention that I highly use Forestry Electrical Engines as ic2 is the main source of energy, therefore my energy grid takes several chunks.
So for me it seems like IC2 issue itself. I see /ic2 enet commands, and I would like to know more to grab cables data and post it here. Maybe you can suggest some tools for me to get info.

@Pulz any other backup mod you using? Have a feeling that this may be caused by backups: I saw very clear that wires were broken right after backup process finished. Another way I can connect that with what I've experienced recently is that the error happens when server lags heavily, like having a very long ticks.

At this point I have to mention that it hasn't been happening for a while. I have custom modpack that causes cascade generation lag and this hangs server sometimes -- and it will make sense if long ticks may affect energy grid (like for example if it tries to quantize calculation by ticks if it's not finished in 20ms or something), cause I have friend traveling around the world with huge performance drop before it happened first time.

Anyway, low activity on this thread is kinda weird and sad. 1.12 seemed like a perfect replacement for 1.7.10 with new features and I'm glad IC2 still lives and survived flattening. Overall everything is great, but this wires issue is so annoying.

@dantaeusb I don't use any backup mod in my modpack 'The Classic Pack', I've got backups of all my critical configuration files and my Multicraft panel does daily backups (which is akin to just copying all server files while it is offline, so shouldn't cause any issues).
This issue isn't one that occurs constantly, nor can I reproduce it reliably- but from time to time it does pop up and I get asked why an entire network of cables needs to be redone.

I have found threads about this issue dating back to April 2014! It's been 10 years without a fix for this issue so I suspect it'll never be fixed. Guess I gotta get the server admin to install another mod with compatible cables because these ones are dogwater.
