Summary0000569: Experimental version; Game crashes when placing solar panel/glass wire
DescriptionTried multiple versions of the experimental builds. None work. I keep getting a crash that says "java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: ic2.api.energy.tile.IEnergySource.getOfferedEnergy()D" (attached is the crash log) whenever I place down a solar panel or glass wire. The level then actually becomes completely unusable then and the game will crash whenever entering. I am not sure what is causing this, but it happens every single time. I installed traincraft, but i don't see how that would cause a missing class from IC2
Steps To ReproduceLog in, place down solar panel or glass wire.

IC2 experimental builds are for Minecraft 1.6.2 and Forge 9.10 only. Your crash log says you are running 1.5.2 with Forge 7.8. Try downloading the latest IC2 release for Minecraft 1.5.2 from http://ic2api.player.to:8080/job/ic2_lf/

I'm not quite sure why it would say that, but unfortunately I am not running 1.5.2 with Forge 7.8. I am running an MCPC+ and Game with 1.6.2, and Forge 9.10, so it's not the version that's an issue

Edit: My apologies, i actually uploaded the wrong crash report. I have uploaded the new one

Thinking out loud here, this reminds me of the world corruption that happens when you place a block from a different mod that expects the old IC2 API. You were using the IC2 solar panel and glass cable, right? Not compact solars or anything like that? I wonder if any of those permissions/security mods expect to interact with IC2 elements at all, maybe making sure people don't steal your electricity? That would do it, and explain why it crashes even when not connecting to anything non-IC2. Other than that, it looks like Traincraft among other things may also try to use the IC2 API, but you didn't mention actually placing any blocks from anything else.

Yeah, its ONLY when I placed a block from IC2. It did start happening after in installed the latest version of traincraft, but I'm not sure why exactly it would cause that and I'm not sure if it's a result of traincraft or from some other issue

Did you have a previous version of Traincraft installed before without any problems? Does the behavior go away if you uninstall it? This can probably be chalked up to mod incompatibility during development--a lot of mods have similar issues because the IC2 API has changed so much, though they don't usually manifest by breaking IC2 stuff.

I noticed that one of the mod packs that includes Traincraft specifically disables overhead lines (catenary cables, I am assuming) because they are "buggy". It wouldn't surprise me if the Traincraft devs are trying to fix that, and in doing so produced some weird interaction with IC2 that hoses the experimental version. The IC2 devs probably won't look at this more until they get closer to release, since it will probably all come out in the wash once the IC2 API is finalized and Traincraft has a chance to conform to it.

No, I didn't have a previous version. But that makes sense. Hopefully they fix that soon!
