| Summary | 0000648: Uranium block not causing radioactivity effect | ||||
| Description | The regular uranium is causing it but the block isnt | ||||

Might be intentional, since the block is much less concentrated that refined/centrifuged uranium. Also it would suck having to take a hazmat suit on mining expeditions. |
|
|
But it still makes sense that the block should have some form of radioactivity, as it is uranium. And yes that would suck, but you shouldn't be just taking the stuff off a cave and not worry about any protection. |

LOL, I found a reference, uranium oxide ore has very low radioactivity. Even if they did model it, you'd barely notice the effect when compared to fuel-grade uranium. So for the purposes of minecraft, I don't think it makes much difference. Source: http://world-nuclear.org/info/Safety-and-Security/Radiation-and-Health/Occupational-Safety-in-Uranium-Mining/ |
