| Summary | 0000902: Miner/Pump combination not drawing lava sources? (IC2 2.0.368) | ||||
| Description | I'm trying to use a miner/pump to get lava cells for a geothermal generator, but the miner's bypassing the lava blocks. I first saw this with Gregtech, but when i started a new world with just IC2, it was still there, so as far as I can tell it's an IC2 issue and not GT. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1) Install MC 2) Install Forge, IC2 and NEI 3) Start, build world 4) Place a pump next to a miner, fill both with cells, pipes, drill and scanner (i used OV) 5) let it drill down next to lava | ||||

I've edited the ic2.cfg to try to force-add lava and it still didn't pull lava from outside the drill site. S:valuableOres=14:3, 15:4, 16:1, 21:3, 56:5, 73:3, 129:5, 11:3 I noticed however that the list isn't showing any of the IC2 ores though, which has me completely confused as to how the ore list is being worked now. |
it's normal behavior. If lava id is present in list, miner don't stop drilling at the end. |
This sounds fairly new. Back in 1.111 I know it worked that way, it's how I got my lava cells for the industrial centrifuge and to power my geothermal generator. Never had problems with it stopping. So if this is normal, how do you gather lava cells? Doing it a bucket at a time seems really inconvenient. |

BuildCraft pump better |
Better? It is sounding to me like IC will no longer support pumping lava nativly, and having to install another full mod system seems like a poor workaround. |
Only way to pumping lava by IC2 pump is adding still lava block id to valuableOres list. But it makes some troubles. By default a pump helps a miner drilling through lava and water. Sad but true, seems that bug-tracker is abandoned. |
That's just it, I did add the lava block ID to the valuableOres list, and it just got stuck on the level where the lava was. It seemed to suck up one cell, not put it into the chest, and then endlessly 'mine' the flowing lava so it never got to another source lava. Sadly, not only is the bug tracker apparently abandoned, but there is 0 documentation for this version, never got taken out of beta, and with the huge list of changes made ... I mean, yeah, Buildcraft is an option, but then i need new power generation, converters, the new equipment ... Seems like they ought to just roll back the code for the miner/pump system |

I see this still hasn't been addressed. :( Darn it... |

Pump will be rework in the near future |
